Preliminary negative!

A had a tough night last night. He stopped breathing. They had to give him oxygen and a dose of anti-narcotic. His lungs had stopped due to the pain medication. After the anti-narcotic he snapped right back. It was the scariest thing I've even seen in my life....never again.

On a better note, the preliminary test for CF has come back negative! They will test for more rare strands but for now, we are convinced, no CF in our house!

He has also eaten for the first time in days. He was alert and looking for more afterwards.

Thank you for your support, he sure is getting those prayers!

Phew. So glad to hear that things are falling more securely into the negative camp. That must be a BIG comfort to you both.

I can't even imagine the scare of watching my little boy stop breathing. You guys have had so many curve balls thrown at you - hopefully there will be no more & before you know it, the three of you will be at home where you belong!

Oh you two must be exhausted with worry! I am thinking about you and little A all the time and wishing him much health.
I'm glad that CF has been banished from your house and hopefully a healthy baby will soon be in it's place!

You don't know me - this is my first visit to your blog but I wanted to say that I am praying for you all as your navigate their path ahead.

My daughter stopped breathing once - actually more than once over the years but the first time is seared into my memory. I do not wish that visual on anyone and I am so sorry it happened to you. I am thrilled for the preliminary negative on the testing and over the moon that A is back in your arms.

I'll be back often to check on you and offer you my support. Big hugs to you both - this is such a sucky way to start out on the parenting journey. :(
